"Without a place to practice, there is nothing to take to a stage or to record latter...."

Grime Studios offers monthly "lock-out" sound attenuated music rehearsal/art studios to bands and other creative arts within the Greater Portland (Maine) Area. Studios vary in size/price to meet budget needs and all are accessible 24-7 to meet any scheduling needs. 

Grime strives to provide a safe, affordable  and comfortable facility/atmosphere for all within the creative community.

It is estimated that approximately 80 bands, of all different genres and levels of recognition in their musical careers, practice at Grime. 

All studios at Grime are fully fire alarmed with sprinklers and are built from non-combustable materials. Studios are equipped with ventilation units to meet ASHREA 62.2 (per city code). Additionally, Grime offers ample free parking, drive-in loading (out of weather), CCV monitoring of common areas/exits and snack machines.

We are currently in the process of building the “2nd floor: Phase Two,” a project consisting of 5 new studios of varying sizes. When complete, this will bring the total units to 39. A later "Phase 3" project will add another 5-6 studios on the 2nd floor.

Grime is currently seeking foundational support to complete the bulk of remaining work, however being that Grime is a 501c3, those interested in supporting the project are encouraged to get in touch at info below.
